So England has an interesting tradition that is held each year in November. It is called Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night and here is an excerpt about it:
"Originally known as Gunpowder Treason Day, it can be traced directly to the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was caught guarding a hoard of explosives placed beneath the House of Lords, and arrested. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the assassination attempt, bonfires were lit around London, and months later the government introduced the Observance of 5th November Act, which enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure"
The rest of the story can be found at Wikipedia.
But it was Kalen's first time watching fireworks and, surprisingly, he wasn't scared at all by it!
They also have a carnival for kids during the celebrations:
I went into a Fun House with mom...
Went on a Shrek Ferris Wheel and Teacups with my buddies Elysia and Andrew...
Sat on the top level of a double-decker bus merry-go-round...
And tore up the streets in my super-fast Barbie motorcycle!
Bonfire night is so much fun!!
